Arsenal defender Jurrien Timber has admitted he is open to playing in any position given the chance Mikel Arteta wants.
Timber joined Arsenal from Ajax last summer but suffered a serious knee injury on the opening day of the season, only to return in the opening game of the season.
The Dutchman is now training hard ahead of next season and is not averse to being deploy anywhere, ยูฟ่าเบท as long as Arteta says he is ready to go.
The 23-year-old said: “When Arteta puts you on, he’s going to see if you can play or not, but of course he’s always there for you and he’s always there for you. He’s always been a great supporter. He’s given me advice and tips during games and training in different positions.
“I’ve spoken to Ben White as well, I think being versatile is good, you get more minutes and the manager can play in more positions.”
“I think I’m lucky to be able to play anywhere in defence and it’s good for the opportunity and it’s good for Arteta as well. I just hope to play anywhere.”
Timber joined the north London club from Dutch giants Ajax for a reported £34 million last summer.
However, the defender did not return from injury until the final game of the campaign, when he came off the bench in Arsenal’s 2-1 win against Everton.
The Gunners are currently touring the United States where they will face Premier League rivals Bournemouth, Manchester United and Liverpool ahead of the start of next season.
Despite a difficult start to life in the Premier League, Timber admits he is taking the positives from the situation.
